Tuesday July 18th was a momentous day in the history of our company. We changed the name of our company from ExtraQuest to StrataVia, and we launched a product, Data Palette, which elevates the art of database administration. Some of the press coverage that came as a result of the launch (and I’m happy to say there was a lot of it) perfectly summarizes what we do. Headlines in publications such as InfoWorld and ComputerWorld simply said “StrataVia automates database administration work”, and that precisely describes the value that we bring to the world of information technology. You can read the press releases here.
We have been using Data Palette (previously known as RoboDOC) in our managed services business for the past three years, and it has played a key role in helping us provide our customers with superior service and dramatically lower costs in the database administration area. But it has always been our intention to make Data Palette available to the market, so that savings in database administration are available to the worldwide community of organizations running databases and wanting to run them more efficiently. Not just savings, consistency, too. No more need to worry about the plethora of systems and platforms you have – Data Palette takes on all of them.
In this issue of DataBuzz, we’re going to tell you more about Data Palette, talk to our lead engineer, and tell you why we changed the name of the company and the product. And there are the regular columns from Venkat Devraj, the expert, and Brian Staff, the market guru. By the way if you want to hear Brian then just link to his Podcast with Claudia Imhoff (choose Topic: Data Management).
We now have a new company – now a service AND product company - which is founded on the same principles as our old company, namely having highly satisfied customers who are seeing greater efficiency and lower bills in their database administration departments and improved data access, which elevates their decisions to strategic heights.
